This screening of Eraserhead is a tribute to the late David Lynch, with all proceeds after expenses donated to the David Lynch Foundation, which he founded in 2005. The foundation promotes Transcendental Meditation (TM) as a tool to reduce stress and improve well-being, particularly for at-risk groups such as veterans with PTSD, students in underserved schools, survivors of domestic violence, and individuals struggling with addiction.
David Lynch redefined surrealist storytelling, blending the beautiful and the bizarre in ways that continue to inspire filmmakers today. His work across film, television, music, and art has left a lasting impact on pop culture.
Eraserhead (1977), Lynch’s haunting debut, is a mesmerizing and unsettling exploration of isolation. With its striking black-and-white cinematography, eerie sound design, and Jack Nance’s enigmatic performance, this dreamlike odyssey has become a cornerstone of Lynch’s legacy—an uncompromising, hypnotic film that continues to captivate.
Steven Liiro
Steven Liiro is a Cinema/Comedy Assistant at ArtsQuest. He earned a BFA in Film/Video from School of Visual Arts, and he's been making films since a young age. He has worked as a paid videographer in numerous environments, including Beyond the Stars Dance Competition. He also worked as a Teaching Assistant at School of Creative and Performing Arts (SOCAPA) in New York City.
